FTMO&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/ftmo.com\/en\/futures\/faq\/who-can-join-ftmo-futures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Futures FAQ<\/a>, lists 101 by residence plus the same four. This page is for a trader checking whether FTMO will accept a signup from their country and, if not, where to look next. FundingTraders is a prop firm and one of the two firms compared here, and we say so wherever it matters. Every FundingTraders evaluation and funded account runs in a simulated environment; FundingTraders is not a broker and does not accept deposits for trading capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>FTMO restricted countries: the full list<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ftmo.com\/en\/faq\/who-can-join-ftmo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FTMO&#8217;s CFD FAQ<\/a>, excludes five categories of individuals and entities ahead of its country-by-country list:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Persons (both nationals and residents) from Iran, Syria, Myanmar, and North Korea<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individuals listed on international sanction lists<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individuals with a criminal record related to financial crime or terrorism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Persons previously banned due to a breach of contract<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Corporate clients structured as company trusts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One conditional exception: nationals of Iran, Syria, or Myanmar may be accepted with valid documentation confirming EEA residency and a verifiable bank account in their name at a traditional EEA bank (not neo bank or fintech). North Korea has no exception. It has 101 entries: all 71 CFD entries plus 30 futures-only ones, including Australia, China, Vietnam, Libya, Yemen, Kenya, Ghana, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, and several small islands and territories. Ukraine is listed whole. The nationality exclusions, the EEA exception, and the stated basis are unchanged; FTMO Futures accepts &#8220;registrations from natural persons only.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A third page, <a href=\"https:\/\/ftmo.com\/en\/futures\/faq\/who-is-eligible-for-a-live-funded-account\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Who is eligible for a Live Funded Account?<\/a>, names 35 countries, including Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa, and Mongolia. Their residents, in FTMO&#8217;s words, &#8220;can still enjoy the full FTMO Futures experience on a Sim-Funded Account, including payouts,&#8221; but are not moved to a Live Funded Account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Restricted by FTMO<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>but not by FundingTraders<\/em><\/strong><em>:<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/app.fundingtraders.com\/new_evaluation\"><em>start a FundingTraders evaluation with code BLOG for 30% off all accounts.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why FTMO restricts these countries<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sanctions and international compliance<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The four nationality-and-residence exclusions in FTMO&#8217;s CFD FAQ overlap with the international sanctions picture: three of the four (North Korea, Iran, and Myanmar) are named in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fatf-gafi.org\/en\/publications\/High-risk-and-other-monitored-jurisdictions\/call-for-action-june-2026.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FATF&#8217;s June 19, 2026 statement<\/a> on high-risk jurisdictions; Syria is not. <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.ftmo.com\/docs%2Fterms-and-conditions%2Ff8d5ca5086964c86a6ee2a77f20bdbd7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FTMO&#8217;s General Terms and Conditions<\/a> were updated August 4, 2026. Clause 1.1 requires that you are &#8220;not included on sanctions lists of the European Union, the Office of Foreign Assets Control, the United Nations or the Czech Republic.&#8221; Sanctions rules, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/ofac.treasury.gov\/sanctions-programs-and-country-information\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OFAC&#8217;s sanctions programs<\/a> in the United States, apply to payments regardless of a firm&#8217;s country list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Licensing and local regulation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the FTMO restricted countries on the residency lists, FTMO gives one stated basis, &#8220;business decisions based on risk management considerations,&#8221; and no per-country reasons. FTMO&#8217;s terms <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.ftmo.com\/docs%2Fterms-and-conditions%2Ff8d5ca5086964c86a6ee2a77f20bdbd7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">define restricted jurisdictions<\/a> as countries where FTMO does not provide services &#8220;as determined by us at our discretion.&#8221; FTMO has not published which licensing or regulatory rule applies where, and this article does not guess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The United States: what happened in 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ftmo.com\/en\/faq\/who-can-join-ftmo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FTMO&#8217;s global CFD FAQ<\/a> does not list the United States; its footnote sends US clients to &#8220;our affiliated entity at <a href=\"https:\/\/ftmo.oanda.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/ftmo.oanda.com<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/ftmo.oanda.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;<\/a> (FTMO&#8217;s words). FTMO has not published a dated statement on its own sites about when its global platform stopped taking new US clients. Its press releases, give the sequence. On August 26, 2025 FTMO <a href=\"https:\/\/ftmo.com\/en\/press-release\/ftmo-and-oanda-enter-into-strategic-partnership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced a strategic partnership with OANDA<\/a> to make &#8220;modern prop trading accessible to the US market.&#8221; On December 2, 2025 it announced <a href=\"https:\/\/ftmo.com\/en\/press-release\/ftmo-completes-acquisition-of-oanda-from-cvc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">completion of its acquisition of OANDA<\/a>. On March 2, 2026 it announced the <a href=\"https:\/\/ftmo.com\/en\/press-release\/oanda-prop-trader-to-conclude-as-ftmo-strengthens-its-modern-prop-focus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OANDA Prop Trader program<\/a> &#8220;will formally conclude on March 31, 2026.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eligibility, from <a href=\"https:\/\/ftmo.oanda.com\/faq\/who-can-join-ftmo-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Who can join FTMO US?<\/a>: at least 18 and a legal US resident. The United States includes the 50 states and six territories: American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, the United States Minor Outlying Islands, and the US Virgin Islands. Five states are excluded: Arkansas, Delaware, Louisiana, Montana, and South Carolina. To be paid you need a valid US tax identification number, such as a social security number, and a completed IRS Form (W-9) before the first reward. You must also provide proof of ownership of a US bank account at a fully licensed and regulated banking institution; fintech and digital-only payment institutions such as Wise and Chime are not accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What to do if you are in a restricted country<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three checks before you move on. First, whether you can join FTMO at all: FTMO country restrictions, from FTMO&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/ftmo.com\/en\/faq\/who-can-join-ftmo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CFD list page<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/ftmo.com\/en\/futures\/faq\/who-can-join-ftmo-futures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">futures list page<\/a>, are spread over two restricted lists plus a third tier that only limits the move to a live funded futures account. Second, whether the trigger is your passport or your address. Third, whether other prop firms with shorter lists accept you; the table below covers FundingTraders. In June, during World Cup week, FundingTraders <a href=\"https:\/\/fundingtraders.com\/blog\/whats-new-with-fundingtraders-looser-reins-faster-payouts\/\">removed Russia and Vietnam<\/a>; on July 20 it <a href=\"https:\/\/fundingtraders.com\/blog\/whats-new-with-fundingtraders-challenge-convert-ft-points-and-four-countries-reopened\/\">reopened Poland, Ukraine, Morocco, and Taiwan<\/a>, whose traders can take new challenges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Against it, from FundingTraders&#8217; own pages:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mongolia. It is the one country FundingTraders&#8217; help article restricts that neither of FTMO&#8217;s restricted lists does, although FTMO&#8217;s Live Funded Account page says Mongolian residents are not moved to a live funded futures account. A Mongolian trader has FTMO&#8217;s CFD route and its simulated futures route (without the move to a Live Funded Account), per FTMO&#8217;s CFD, futures, and Live Funded Account FAQs, and not FundingTraders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One blanket reason, no definitions. FundingTraders&#8217; help article gives one basis, &#8220;regulatory requirements and compliance policies,&#8221; and names no trigger (nationality or residence). FundingTraders&#8217; help article has no exception route like the EEA clause in FTMO&#8217;s CFD FAQ. It says &#8220;we will be implementing restrictions,&#8221; which leaves timing ambiguous, and points to unnamed &#8220;official announcements.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>KYC can still decline you. Absence from the five-country list is not acceptance: FundingTraders&#8217; KYC article names &#8220;Restricted country&#8221; as a decline reason, and neither FundingTraders article says how sanctions-list hits are handled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Five countries, one published continuation policy, a KYC page that names its decline reasons: that is the FundingTraders availability check.
