Rules and Objectives

Any violation of a hard breach rule or trading objective will result in the immediate termination of the account.

Profit Target

The account balance (not equity) must reach 10% profit relative to the starting account balance. All positions must be closed.

Example:

  • Starting Account Balance: $1,000

  • Profit Target: $100

Daily Loss Limit: 3%

Current equity or balance must not reach -3% of the account size relative to the starting day's equity. Floating losses count, not only closed trades.

Example:

  • Account Size: $1,000

  • 3% of Account Size: $30

  • Starting Day's Equity: $1,070

  • Max. Daily Loss Level: $1,040

At any point within that day, the current equity or balance must not drop to $1,040.

Maximum Loss Limit: 6%

Current equity or balance must not reach -6% of the account size relative to the highest recorded account balance. This trails higher as the account balance increases and never moves back down.

Example:

  • Account Size: $1,000

  • 6% of Account Size: $60

  • Highest Recorded Balance: $1,055

  • Max. Overall Loss Level: $995

At any point, the current equity or balance must not drop to $995.

Maximum Risk Per Trade Idea: 2% (Challenge and Funded Phase)

To maintain consistent risk management, traders must follow this guideline:

  • Maximum Risk per trade idea = 2% of the initial account balance

What counts as one Trade Idea?

A trade idea is considered one idea if:

  • You open trades in the same symbol and direction that are active simultaneously, or;

  • You close and reopen trades in the same symbol and direction within 2 minutes.

If trades are on different symbols or in opposite directions, they are treated as separate trade ideas.

Example: $50,000 Account

  • Account Balance: $50,000

  • Maximum Risk per Trade Idea (2%): 50,000 x 0.02 = 1,000

  • This means: for any single trade idea, the maximum total allowed floating or closed loss is $1000 (whether that comes from one trade or multiple positions combined).

Trade Idea Examples

✅ Single Trade Idea (within limit):

  • Open GOLD BUY (floating or closed loss $375 = 0.75%)

  • Open another GOLD BUY (floating or closed loss $375 = 0.75%)

  • Total floating or closed loss: $750 (1.5%) → Allowed

❌ Single Trade Idea (over limit):

  • Open GOLD BUY (floating or closed loss $750 = 1.5%)

  • Open another GOLD BUY (floating or closed loss $750 = 1.5%)

  • Total floating or closed loss: $1,500 (3%) → Not Allowed

✅ Multiple Trade Ideas (independent losses):

  • Open GOLD BUY (floating or closed loss $750)

  • Open AUDUSD BUY (floating or closed loss $750)

  • Open GBPJPY SELL (floating or closed loss $750)

  • Each is a separate trade idea → All allowed

In short: On a $50,000 account, no more than $1,000 floating or closed loss may be allocated to a single trade idea, regardless of how many entries you use within it.

Remember, this rule is only applied in the funded phase.

General Account Rules

Below are the rules for maintaining a Try Out account, how to proceed through phases, and strict account limitations:

  • Completely free: No payment is needed at any stage. There is no evaluation fee, no Phase 2 fee and no activation fee.

  • Try Out registration only: The Try Out is only available to users who signed up through the Try Out registration link.

  • One Try Out per person: Each person may receive one Try Out account. Duplicate Try Out accounts are closed and forfeit any payouts.

  • One Profile Policy: Users are strictly allowed one profile each.

Platform: Try Out accounts are available on MT5 only.

  • No add-ons: Profit split, payout schedule, Zero Fees, reset and other add-ons are not available on Try Out accounts.

  • Limited availability: 2,000 spots per season, with limited spots per country. Once the roster closes, no further Try Out accounts are issued for that season.

🚨 Warning: If a user is detected operating multiple profiles, this will result in immediate account termination and a permanent ban from our platform.

Passing the Challenge and Unlocking Your Funded Account

Once your account balance reaches the $100 profit target with all positions closed and at least 2 trading days completed:

  1. You receive a pass notification by email.

  2. Complete KYC Verification. Your funded account is only issued after your identity has been verified. See KYC Verification for the documents required. KYC must be completed under your legal name, matching your account details.

  3. Your free $1,000 funded account is delivered. There is no activation fee. The funded account is also a 1-Step Pro account on MT5 and follows the funded-phase rules in this article.

If You Fail

  • Breaching a hard rule (daily loss limit, maximum loss limit or maximum risk per trade idea) ends the account immediately. You receive a fail notification by email.

  • There is nothing to refund, because you paid nothing.

  • Resets: Not available. Try Out accounts cannot be reset, so a failed Try Out account stays closed.

  • You may be able to join a future Try Out season.

News Trading

Challenge Phase Rules

News trading is fully permitted during the Challenge phase, with no restrictions in place.

  • Traders may engage in any form of news trading.

  • There are no limitations regarding profit percentages, timing restrictions, or penalties during this stage.

Funded Phase Rules

News trading is allowed, but one critical guideline must be followed:

  • No more than 30% of total profits can be derived from trades influenced by high impact news. If this threshold is exceeded, payout processing will be delayed until additional trades reduce the percentage below the limit.

Timing Restrictions

For the purpose of the 30% rule, a trade is classified as a "News Trade" based on specific timing relative to a Red Folder event affecting that specific asset.

The 10-Minute Window: A trade is considered a News Trade if it is opened, held, or closed within the window of:

  • 5 minutes before the news release.

  • 5 minutes after the news release.

Affected Instruments

All currency pairs linked to the news event are restricted, along with indices tied to the relevant currency’s economic news.

  • For example:

    • US30 will be flagged during high impact US news events.

    • DAX will be restricted during EUR-related news events.

    • JPN225 will be restricted during JPY-related news events.

These instruments are subject to the same news-trading guidelines and restrictions.

Special Exceptions/Key Differences

To accommodate swing traders who prefer not to micromanage positions around news events, Pro accounts may hold trades through such events under the following conditions:

  • Trades with trade duration of 5 hours or more before the release of any high impact news shall not be considered News Trading.

  • Profits from news-influenced trades must remain below 30% of total PnL.

Both rules must be followed for trades held through news events to remain compliant.

Leverage

FundingTraders supports up to 1:50 leverage, with specific ratios for each instrument class to suit different trading strategies and manage risk appropriately.

  • 1:50 leverage on FX Majors gives scalpers and day traders the flexibility to capture intraday price movements with smaller margin requirements.

  • Lower leverage on other asset classes reflects their unique volatility and risk profiles.

  • All traders are encouraged to use leverage responsibly and practice robust risk management to maximize opportunity without exposing accounts to excessive risk.

This tiered leverage structure ensures both opportunity and account protection, aligning with FundingTraders’ focus on sustainable trading.

  • FX Majors: 1:50

  • FX Minors/Exotics: 1:30

  • Indices: 1:15

  • Metals: 1:10

  • Oil: 1:10

  • Commodities: 1:1

  • Crypto: 1:1

Commissions

FundingTraders maintains a simple and transparent commission structure to help traders clearly understand their trading costs.

  • Commissions apply only during the funded phase

  • Funded accounts are charged a $3 per lot round-trip commission

  • This commission applies to all instruments except indices

  • No commissions are charged during non-funded phases

This straightforward approach ensures traders can accurately plan and manage their trading costs once funded.

Minimum Trading Days

  • Challenge phase: minimum of 2 trading days before the challenge can be passed

  • Funded phase: minimum of 2 trading days before your first payout

Reminder:

  • A trading day is counted only when at least one trade is placed

  • Each required trading day must show genuine trading activity to be considered valid

  • There is no time limit to complete the Try Out challenge.

Payout

Payout eligibility requirements and information for the funded Try Out account.

Consistency Score: 50%

The Consistency Score is a trading rule designed to encourage sustainable and reliable profit generation, not high-risk, one-off gains. Your largest profit day must not exceed 50% of your total profits to qualify for a payout. Partial trades are counted on the day the position is fully closed, so profit allocation reflects realized outcomes, not interim fluctuations.

The largest trading day's profit must be less than or equal to 50% of the total profit at any point. If the score exceeds this limit, trading must continue until compliance is achieved. Exceeding the threshold does not breach your account.

How to Calculate

(Highest Trading Day Profit / Total Trading Days PNL) x 100 = Consistency Score

To qualify for payouts, the result should not be greater than 50%.

How to Lower Your Score

If the Consistency Score is above 50%, use this formula to find the minimum total profits needed to meet the rule:

Highest Trading Day Profit / 0.5 = Required Total Trading Days Profits

Quick Examples (on the $1,000 Try Out account)

  • Example 1

    • Total Trading Days PNL: $120

    • Largest trading day: $60

    • Consistency Score = 100 x (60 / 120) = 50%, Eligible

  • Example 2

    • Total Trading Days PNL: $80

    • Largest trading day: $42

    • Consistency Score = 100 x (42 / 80) = 52.5%, Not eligible

    • To become eligible: $42 / 0.50 = $84

    • Keep trading until Total Trading Days Profits are at least $84

  • Example 3

    • Total Trading Days PNL: $60

    • Largest trading day: $27

    • Consistency Score = 100 x (27 / 60) = 45%, Eligible

Summary

To ensure payout eligibility, keep the largest profit day at or below 50% of current profits at all times. This approach rewards consistent, lower-risk trading performance and discourages a reliance on single large trades or lucky events.

Payout Schedule: Same Day

Try Out funded accounts are paid the same day you request. There is no 21-day waiting period after your first trade, and no payout add-ons are needed.

  • The profit split is the same for every Try Out account

  • No profit split upgrades or add-ons are available

  • Traders keep 80% of all eligible profits, up to the $500 lifetime payout cap

Real-cash payouts on the Try Out funded account are capped at $500 in total over the lifetime of the account. Once the cap is reached, no further payouts are available on the Try Out account.
